Tales from the Hood by Michael Buckley
The Sisters Grimm: Book 6
Audience: 9 and up
Rating: B+
Synopsis:
Mr. Canis is stuck in jail. Everyone is depressed. Even Daphne’s lost her sunshiny charm and has adopted Sabrina’s eye-rolling habits. Could the weapon that Hamstead gave the girls save them? Can anyone beat the rigged trial that Mayor Heart and Sheriff Nottingham are conducting? And what about the girls’ parents? Will they ever be able to find Goldilocks and wake the sleeping Grimms?
Chatter:
(Spoiler Alerts! ) What a cliffhanger! Michael Buckley certainly knows how to write an ending. I’m dying to know if Goldilocks’ kiss will wake up the girls’ parents. If so, will the whole family stay in Ferryport Landing? I predict that Sabrina will make at least a quick plea to go back to her old life. (Not that I expect that anyone will listen to her!)
This wasn’t my favorite Grimm book, but it was really good. I think my biggest complaint was that it didn’t add that much to the overall plot. My favorite character (Puck) wasn’t even in the book that much! I found the revealing of Mr. Canis’s past really interesting and I’m very curious to see what will happen with Red now that she’s not crazy. But we lost even more characters this book too! If Charming, Snow, Robin (and gang) and Mr. Canis are all off hiding in the mountains, I doubt we’ll see as much of them in the next book.
As of right now I haven’t been able to find any information on the seventh book in the series. I guess this isn’t so surprising since book six only came out today… but I’m already impatient! Luckily, Michael Buckley’s been putting out a new book just about every six months. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long! I’ll keep checking Amazon to look for a title and release date, let me know if you find it first!
Questions:
What will Mr. Canis do now that he’s lost his Big Bad powers?
What will Red do now that she isn’t crazy anymore?
What do you think Sabrina learned from her theft and deception?
How will Sabrina get Daphne to forgive her?
